Alan Leach, MA (Cantab), MSc (London Business School), Director: Alan has responsibility for developing relationships with clients from the financial and other sectors at an international level. With a background in strategic research and consulting, Alan has extensive pan-European and global experience in areas that include affinity and partnership marketing, automotive financial services, bancassurance, customer behaviour, extended warranties and insurance for consumer products, retailer financial services, and travel insurance and assistance. Moreover, projects in which he has been involved include benchmarking card-related loyalty schemes for a major international payment card company, evaluating opportunities in creditor insurance in China, India, South Korea and Taiwan, and analysing automotive finance competitors and products across multiple European countries. David Parry, MA (Cantab), PhD (Cantab), Managing Consultant: David held a research fellowship in modern French history at Hertford College, Oxford before he began his career in business intelligence for financial services, and he is the co-author (with Pierre Girard) of 'France since 1800' (Oxford University Press). He currently leads Finaccord's worldwide research program covering automotive financial services which embraces not only car finance and leasing but also related insurance, warranty and assistance products. David joined Finaccord from eBenchmarkers, where he developed and managed its benchmark on the performance of eCommerce for IFAs, for the UK's leading life and pensions companies. In total, he has over ten years' experience in financial services market analysis, and has been involved in a wide range of projects concerning retail banking and both life and non-life insurance in Europe, including market sizing and forecasting, competitor intelligence, brand analysis and the use of IT in financial services. David Bowles, BA (York), MA (SOAS), Consultant: David is responsible for Finaccord's international research into travel insurance worldwide, international health insurance and other services related to global mobility. In addition to having authored numerous reports on these subjects, he has also been involved in a variety of related consulting assignments. Amandas Ong, BA (Goldsmiths, UOL), MPhil (Cantab), Marketing Consultant: Amandas performs two main roles at Finaccord. First, she has direct day-to-day involvement in the marketing of the company’s products and services. Secondly, she has been instrumental in developing several new products ranges. These include published research about accident and health insurance in Europe plus the Global Insurance and Lending Market Data series which delivers consistent and standardised market value data and forecasts for 40 countries in the following six areas: accident and health insurance; commercial non-life insurance; consumer lending; life insurance and retirement savings; motor insurance; and property insurance. Francisco Leitão, BA (Porto), MA (UCL), Consultant: Having developed a number of innovative new research products since joining Finaccord, Francisco possesses extensive and detailed knowledge of commercial lines insurance worldwide plus niche lines in the UK such as classic car, excess protection, jewellery / watch, landlord property, pet, tax investigation and van insurance. In addition to modelling the size, growth, segmentation and outlook for these and other products, he also has insights into the distribution systems used to sell niche insurance in the UK, including major affinity and corporate partnerships. Claire Michaud BA (Dartmouth), MSc (Oxon), Consultant: Since joining Finaccord, Claire has worked on a variety of published reports and series including those concerning bancassurance in the Americas and Africa / the Middle East, commercial lines broking in selected global markets, professional indemnity insurance in selected global markets and a global overview of medical malpractice insurance. Prior to joining Finaccord, Claire worked for the CEO and board of directors practice of a leading global executive search firm. Stefan J. Wagner, MLitt (St And), MPhil (LMU Munich), PhD (KCL), Consultant: Stefan’s projects have included work on bancassurance in the Asia-Pacific Region / Australasia and Europe, commercial lines broking in selected global markets, analyses of consumer approaches to online comparison sites for insurance in selected global markets, professional indemnity insurance (and medical malpractice insurance) in selected global markets, as well as surety bonds and trade credit insurance in Europe. Before working for Finaccord, he conducted academic research at Princeton University, the Max Planck Institute for Human Development Berlin, and King’s College London.
