CASE STUDY

In conjunction with a marketing consultancy that was itself working with an international financial services organisation, Finaccord successfully delivered a detailed analysis of the characteristics of consumer insurance markets in 11 countries, with a particular focus on insurance acquired by 'mass affluent' customers. The countries covered for this project were Argentina, Australia, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain and the UK. This assignment included the provision of the following datasets, among others, for each country:

- the current and historical value and volume of the personal non-life insurance market with a breakdown between personal motor, household, travel, accident and health, and specialised insurance;

- the current and historical value and volume of the protection-related life insurance market with a breakdown between term life and other types of protection-related life insurance;

- quantification of the number of customers falling within the 'mass affluent' segment, adjusted in accordance with national GDP per capita;

- the current and historical value and volume of the personal non-life and protection-related life insurance markets acquired by 'mass affluent' customers, with the same product segmentations as above;

- other market data covering extended warranties for white, brown and grey goods plus insurance and assistance linked to payment cards and bank accounts.
